No Quarter

Small (12MB)Medium (37MB)Large (61MB)

This animated short was my final project at Vancouver Film School. It took 6 months to create, and I learned A LOT by doing it. Everything was done by me, with the exception of the sound being pulled from a sound library. It was created using mainly Softimage XSI and Adobe After Effects. Besides the wealth of technical knowledge I've gained from it, I think the best thing I've learned from this project is the importance of using video reference for animation. I feel that much of my timing could have benefited from proper reference. Still, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I welcome you to take a look.

Stanley's Furniture Advertisment

This is a 30 second TV advertisment that I did for a local furniture store through a studio called Red Road Media. It's currently running in the Midland/Bay City/Saginaw area of Michigan. Though I was directed by my superiors at the studio, nearly everything was made by me. The video footage and voice over were not recorded by me, and the music was bought royalty free from the internet. Other than that, it was created by me using mainly Adobe After Effects, and took about 27 hours.

Medley and Mayhem

I was a little hesitant to put this here at first, because it's a project from way back when I really first dove into After Effects. The assignment was known as the "Discovery Project". We were supposed to pick a medium that we were interested in and spend two months testing, experimenting, and "Discovering" that medium. At the end of it all, we had to come out with a project that showed what we had learned. My goal was to create a video purely within After Effects, with no outside resources. Simply put, it ended up being an elaborate visualization of the music that I composed for it. Granted, the music was an ouside resource, but the visuals are purely generated by After Effects. I've improved my motion graphics skills a lot since this project, but I don't have many finished pieces to show it, so I decided to put it up here. Hope you enjoy it!
